Wolfenstein is followed by the reboot series Wolfenstein: The New Order, which was released in May 2014 and a standalone Wolfenstein: The Old Blood that takes place between the two games. He is usually depicted carrying an MP 40, though in the introduction he is shown with the M1911 pistol he used in several missions in the previous game. Blazkowicz, retaining the unshaven look seen in Return to Castle Wolfenstein and dressed in civilian clothes rather than his usual military uniform (the game does admit he normally looks 'tall and blond'). The game featured a "re-imagined" disguised dark-haired B.J. The game runs on a heavily modified Id Tech 4 (aka Doom 3) engine, with physics simulation using the Havok engine. It was released for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC in August 2009 and became available on the Steam distribution network in October 2009. The market decides the price.Wolfenstein is a game in the Wolfenstein series, co-developed by Raven Software, Id Software, Pi Studios, and Endrant Studios and published by Activision. Its those idiots who buy physical when digital copies are avaliable that drive up the prices. Yeah it is an interesting game and worth a playthrough but not worth more than $10.Ĭollectors and speculators drive up the prices on anything somewhat limited in video games, ever since NES collecting got big speculators flocked to videogames. Why people think its worth $30-$60 is just bonkers though. I am sure I picked it up for less than £10 a few years ago, but its like all things, supply and demand. Though I would not really want to pay all that much for it, given its age. I rather enjoyed it, to be fair I agree its not up there with the great fps's, but its still fun, and worth getting if you can pick it up cheap enough. Its not a great FPS, it does some interesting stuff I havn't seen before or since, but its not memorable or all that great. Its not worth giving money to speculators and idiots just to play it.
Find a friend with a copy who is willing to share it with you. Originally posted by Ridah:You can't buy it digitally. Therefore since you are only looking to play the single player campaign, you might save some money on it if you look for the "Used- good condition" copies on Amazon. Note- Even if you buy it new in a sealed case, the CD key will not activate on Steam. If you really want to get it so you can play all the Wolfensteins, buy it now because the prices are only going to increase as time passes.
I bought my copy off Amazon before the prices started going up. I personally prefer Return to Castle Wolfenstein and New Order/Old Blood over it.

If you can get used to the slight mouse lag and use a community patch to increase the FOV, it is a decent shooter that'll keep you entertained. I got the overall impression that the game was developed more with console in mind. Furthermore, it has a bit of mouse lag that I have been unable to remove in my attempts. If you want to change FOV you will have to use a community patch. It has somewhat basic graphics options(resolution, AA, AF, shadow quality, etc) and no option to change FOV.
